Is it possible for my learners to print a paper certificate upon completion of a Prime course?

Hello all.

This question is for fellow Prime admins and/or the Prime development/support team.

I would like to know can my learners print a paper certificate upon completing a course in Adobe Captivate Prime?

If this is possible, how do I build this functionality as the admin?

Thanks,

Thomas H.

Hi Harell,

Yes, the learners can print the certificates directly from the LMS.

Please follow the below steps-

A. Enable Badge on the learning object by below steps-
Login as Admin > Courses > Search the course > Instance > Enable Badge > Enroll learners

Once the learners have completed the learning object they would achieve badge from the LMS which can be tracked from the Badges section.
Login as learner > Badges > Download PDF > Print

Learners can print certificate as badge directly from the LMS.

Hope this helps !

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Adobe Captivate Prime Team.

We can help you create an HTML certificate for your account that will have the User's name, the Course/Learning Program/Certification name along with few other details that the user can download in PDF format and print it as well.

When a user completes a Learning Object we can assign the same to the user in place of these badges and the user can download and print it.

I would request you to contact us on the channels in the link below for that.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks Walter.

We've got a manual work-around in place for the time being.

My content is not created from a Captivate object so I can't take advantage of the solution you offered.

Curious Walter, does Clarix offer free training for Prime admins?

You should be able to take advantage of Captivate Prime API's and JSON data in other types of content (not just Captivate).

And - Yes, Clarix does offer free Admin training to all of our clients.

Yes, each Badge has an associated downloadable/printable associated certificate.

So, by associating a badge with the certificate you also associate a printable certificate.

Thanks, Walter.

I was finally able to complete my test on this, there was some issue of my course completion NOT registering in Prime.

Although I understand the workflow you explained, it doesn't solve what I was looking to accomplish (I want my learners to print a pre-formatted document as the certificate, that displays their name automatically, that I upload to Prime NOT the badge image that is used currently used).

Thanks for your help!

Thomas,

You probably know that a Captivate Project can pull a variable from itself to insert into a certificate.

That it is typically based on the user entering their name into a form at some point within the Project.

To accomplish what you are looking for, I think that Captivate Prime API's need to be embedded in a project 'module' to GET the current user name.

I'm not a programmer, but we do have developer resources if you would like to talk to one.
