How can I stop AE from clearing asset colour coding every time the project is saved?

I am currently working on a slideshow and have about 250 individual photos loaded in my assets bin.  As I use one I'm putting a colour code on it so I don't repeat any individual shots.  Every single time I save my project, all those colour codes are removed.  Can anyone tell me how to stop this?

Shouldn't happen. Sounds like a bug. Either way, check the label settings in the prefs and consider marking your stuff by renaming it with a prefix or whatever.

That doesn't sound right. Do you mind sharing a screen recording showing the issue? We'd like to investigate it.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,
