Just updated to 23.1 as soon as I could hoping that the memory issues that was occuring with 23.0 would be solved. Sadly, Adobe, not only are they not solved, you added in some new bugs that have not been bugs in years. This is pretty frustrating for those of us who use Ae in a professional capacity.
Computer specs:
2022 Mac Studio M1 Ultra / OS Monterey 12.6 / 64 gb ram / 1 tb onboard storage / 2 tb external drive storage (projects are read from the external storage and written to onboard storage)
Memory Bug:
Ae is not releasing memory. Over the course of about 20 min, Ae will take up over 50 gb of my available memory, the only option to clear the ram is to purge. Preference set to 48 gb available for Adobe with 16 gb available for other applications. Disk cache and Media cache are disabled.
Space Bar Bug:
Pressing the "0" key and/or space bar will normally start a ram preview. Pressing the "0" key and/or the space bar a second time is supposed to stop the ram preview. Currently, a second press of either key will initiate the ram preview to start over instead of stopping the ram preview.
Extension Panels Cause Layer Lag:
Having extensions open (Bodymovin, Motion 4, and AtomX for example) will cause an input lag when you are attempting to adjust keyframs or move layers in time. The more extensions you have running, the worse the problem becomes.
