3d motion tracker text not appearing

Community Beginner ,

Just that. I'm currently going thru with the Classroom in a book (2019 release) and I don't understand why, when I type the text, in simple w/b, nothing is appearing after I've set the ground plane and clicked create new camera and text upon the target. I can still type regular text apparently, but nothing in 3d motion tracker target points...

Any help would be fairly appreciated!

If you just add a text layer and make it 3D it will be at the comp center. When you run the camera tracker, set an origin and ground plane, then add a camera the new center of the 3D universe is now at 0, 0, 0. That's the upper right corner. The camera constantly moves so if you want to see the layer you either have to select some tracking markers and get a target on the surface you want to use as the starting point of the text layer and Add Text using the Camera Tracker, or you have to have already added a reference solid or a null to that surface. There are no Track Solids or Nulls added to the scene. If you set the origin and ground plane someplace other than the first frame the camera could be pointing anywhere. For the camera tracker to be useful at all you have to pick some surfaces and add Solids (preferred because you can see them) Nulls, or Text layers to those surfaces. Without those surfaces as a reference, the only way you can line things up is by choosing 4 Views for the Comp Panel and manually drag your text layer into position in front of the camera and then you have to guess how far away the layer needs to be from the camera so it will appear correctly in the scene. If you have a reference solid or null in the scene you can hold down the Shift key and Parent any new 3 layers to that reference surface. The new 3D layer will snap into the same position as the reference layer. All that is left is to adjust the orientation (rotation) so that the text is properly facing the camera.

You must have missed a couple of steps. You also need to familiarize yourself with the UI and the tools you have access to so that working in AE's 3D world is doable.

It's not a text layer that I added though. I'm having difficulty with the text inside 3d camera tracker's text maker. I show my process below. The text is not appearing...1.png2.png3.png4.png5.png

OK I FIGURED IT OUT!!

So after discovering that my laptop can't run CINEMA 4D after attempting a lesson involving it, I've been experiencing 3D Camera Tracker issues ever since...and now I know why my text won't appear in the 3D Camera Tracker text box! It was so simple! All I had to do was revert the Renderer options from CINEMA 4D back to Classic 3D in the Composition Settings!
