3d Tracker waits till the end of tracking attempt to tell you wrong comp size!

when i use the 3d tracker on a clip in AE, if by accident im looking at a 4k clip in a 1080p comp

the tracker will proceed and try to track camera (in this case 15 minutes it takes to track the camera on these drone shots)

then, at the end of the 15 minutes it tells me the comp size doesnt match the clip size

couldnt it have told me this at the start???
