a closed path, cannot be turned into an open path. AE 23.1.0

I can make a path that is open, and then close it. 

but there is no way, to go the other way. 

the menu item "Mask and Shape Path : Closed" is always grayed out.

splines, rotosplines, masks generated from pimitives (circles, squares, etc...,) masks generated from the menu, masks that are drawn open, and then closed. all types of paths... not going to bother testing shape paths, somene else can do that.

steps to reproduce:

make a cicle mask, right click on that mask, try to select "Mask and Shape Path : Closed"

What you need to do is to select not one but two vertices along the path to be able to unclose it. It took a while for me to figure it out as well, not super intuitive.

You can set the first vertex by selecting the one you want (shift-click on a selected

path) and then select Set First Vertex in the Layer/Mask and Shape Path Menu
