Hi After Effects Community!

Last night, an update was released for After Effects v.22.0.1, which contains bug fixes including the following:

  • Fixed an issue where Premiere Pro or Adobe Media Encoder may stop working while rendering an After Effects composition.
  • Fixed an issue where an invisible After Effects process (aerendercore on MacOS or AfterFX on Win) may stop working when a dynamically-linked application, such as Premiere Pro or Media Encoder was closed or Edit Original was invoke.

This update is recommended for all users of Adobe After Effects.

Notes:

  • If the update does not solve your issue, please create a separate post here on the forums with details of your issue. In doing so, you can have community "power users" and ACPs help you troubleshoot the issue more easily.
  • If you have any difficulties exposing the update in Creative Cloud application, you might have to log out of the Creative Cloud application, then log back in. I had to do just that, personally. Let us know if you have any difficulties installing the update.

Note: if you are on macOS, and the fix doesn't appear to be working, please try the following:

  • With Premiere Pro or After Effects + Media Encoder open while trying to render/export a project, open the Activity Monitor in the Utilities panel. Select the process "aerendercore" and force quit it with the Stop [x] button at the top of the window.

Thanks!
Kevin
