This is occuring in AE 17.0.1 and 17.0.2, I can't view the text after starting an expression. The curor size is huge, and there's no visible text. After I close the expression editor the text appears normal, but editing it is impossible because you can't see it.
When viewing the Edit/Preferences/Script & Expressions, the preview is screwed up as well. The font shows as 12, but the preview is NOT 12. There's clearly a bug here. It happened in .02 so I uninstalled it and went back a version, and .01 is doing the same thing. Picture below is of the preferences screen.
Anyone seen this before or know how far backward I need to go to get this corrected?

I've not had such an issue but I've read from others.
File a Bug Report.
Try different hardware acceleration settings and ensure your GPU drivers are the latest, and greatest.

Try resetting your preferences and changing the project's GPU acceleration.

Hi rgontarek and Magnus_Allgurén,
I'm sorry to see you're both experiencing this issue after the updates. This is a known issue but unfortunately, the root cause of it is currently unknown.
If you reset your After Effects preferences, does the problem persist?
To reset the preferences, press and hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift ( macOS ) while After Effects is starting. NOTE: This will wipe out existing workspaces, etc, so you can make a backup by revealing the preference folder location via Preferences > General > Reveal Preferences in Finder/Explorer, then copying the entire "17.0" folder to your desktop or another folder location.
If resetting the preferences resolves the bug, restoring your old preferences will likely cause it to return. But if not, you can restore the backup by copying the backed up "17.0" folder into its original location. Additionally, if the bug is or isn't resolved by resetting the preferences, please let us know.
Some additional information about your systems would be helpful as well. OS, OS version, what language the OS and AE are using, as well as any font or GPU management software that may be running.
Thank you for any additional information,
- John, After Effects Engineering Team

Hi John,
Thank you so much! Clearing the preferences worked, but only after the second time around. All is now back to normal. Again, thank you!

I tried this on my end and it didn't resolve the bug after resetting preferences. I did this 3 times just in case but it didn't fix it.
Additional info:
- Windows 10 (1903 version) - Spanish
- After Effects 17.0.5 - English
- NVIDA GeForce Experience (445.75 version) I think this is what you mean with GPU management software

Hi everyone,
I'm sorry that you have to experience that issue. I'm investigating this bug with John in trying to find the root cause. In doing some research, I was wondering if you had a multiple monitor setup.
If that's the case, could you provide us with these additional informations:
Thanks a lot for your help,

Hi Sebastien,
I am only working with one monitor. But as you can see from my response to John, clearing the prefs worked for me.
