When exporting .MOGRTs from After Effects (v22.4 Build 56, MacOS Monterey 12.2.1) the export dialog is incredibly unstable. For the record, the Ae file (and all the comps within), is the exact same file that I've been successfully exporting MOGRTs out of for the last 3+ years with never a single issue.
As of today, more often than not, upon clicking 'Export Motion Graphics Template', followed by the prompt to first save the AE file, it then hangs on the 'Copy Files' dialog. After Effects becomes totally unresponsive. This happens regardless of whether assets in the comp are stored on the Desktop, on an external SSD, or in a OneDrive directory (I've moved the assets around in an attempt to troubleshoot, and the bug persists regardless of where the files are).
But then, for seemingly no reason whatsoever, the export process does eventually work - but only after force-quitting AE 3-4 times do I then get a successful export of the exact same Motion Graphics Template that I've tried to export the last 3-4 times with a crash. Never seen this before the new update to 22.4.
What's even more weird, is that when I then import the MOGRT into Premiere Pro (also 22.4, Build 57), I see an error that I've never encountered before either: "the motion graphic template could not be installed". Upon attempting to then import the same MOGRT again, Pr says something like "this file already exists, would you like to overwrite?" > Click yes, and same error again - "the motion graphic template could not be installed."
So Pr is obviously copying the file to a directory somewhere, but not actually able to finalise the import/make it usable within the Essential Graphics panel.
Then it gets even more weird. After a few hours of frustration, I walked away from the desk, had a few drinks to dull the never-ending frustration with this software, and came back - managed to export the MOGRT from Ae, and then managed to import it into Pr first time, no issues. No errors.
The inconsistency is absolutely infuriating. Nothing changed in my process. Just repeated the exact same steps as I'd tried earlier, and this time, no errors.
Adobe, look into this please. It's absolutely appalling how much buggier the software seems to become with every new release.
