Hello, so I recently got into Cinema 4d and am trying to import a quick animation I made to after effects, mainly to export it to view on my phone, and practice some effects in AE on it as well.
My issue is that when I save the Cinema 4D file, then import it into AE, I can still see my grid as well as all the other guidlines in Cinema 4D. I read around other posts about this problem and everyone says to make sure the renderer is set to Standard, not Hardware. But, When I set the renderer to Standard, I lose all color, texture, lighting, etc. and I am left with muddy dark green objects, it looks nothing like what I made. I wasnt able to find anyone else with this problem.
I have some screen shots of my cinema 4d project, and my AE comp set on both standard and hardware.
If anyone can help me figure out how to import my Cinema 4D file to AE with no grid, and no loss of quality I would greatly appreciate it, thanks!

Your screenshots are cropped so I can't see what you have done in C4D to set up lights, I can't see what you have done with the textures you have applied to the model, and I'm not sure what your workflow is. It just looks to me like you didn't do much to light the scene in C4D.
Do you have any experience using C4D? Have you gone through any of the tutorials?

Sorry about that, yes im very new to C4D, a few days in. I have been watching tutorials on the basics, text, lights, and some basic animation. This is my layout, as the object to the right moves colliding into the square.
I have 3 lights set up, one to follow the moving object. I tested moving a light closer to my object to see how it looks in after effects and I can tell that the light is effecting the dark green in AE, I just didnt think it was exactly that because in C4D they look well lit with no issue, if anything they look over exposed in C4D. I'm only using 2 textures both with reflection.
Sorry for the vague & elementary post but I do appreciate the help! I'll continue going through lighting tutorials and testing positions out
