While i was the program suddenly forze, blocking all my computer and forcing me to restart the pc by holding the power button.
After that event every time that i try to just open the app my computer stops working: the screen goes completly black and unresponsive, without any blue screen or error pop ups. Even if i manage to close the app before the screen goes black the computer stops working, freezing on my desktop.
The crash is not even reported in a Crash log (the log folder for the version 25.4 is empty)
I work on an Asus Vivobook pro 15, Windows 11 on the latest version, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 laptop GPU, processor Intel core ultra 7 155H. Everything is updated to the most recent version.

That's not ideal.
What version of the GPU driver are you using? Install the latest Studio driver from the Nvidia website if you're not using it already. If that doesn't help, please share a log file with me for further investigation. Here's how you can collect one:
1. Start AE
2. Help Menu > Enable Logging
3. Restart AE
4. Replicate the issue
5. Help Menu > Reveal Logging Files...
6. Find the "After Effects Log.txt" file and copy/paste the content back to this forum thread.
Looking forward to your response. Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.
Thanks,
Nishu

I have the latest version of my driver, the 580.97 released the 12th of August.
I tried to do what you asked but I can't even bring myself to open the reveal logging files without having my computer go completly black. After effect is the only app that has ever gave me issues like that.
I can share some pictures to show what is going on on my screen, when I can I will retry and respond again to you with the reports

I see! Thanks for sharing the screenshots.
Since After Effects is crashing on launch, you'd need to create a text file with the name "After Effects Log.txt" at this location: C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\After Effects\25.2\logs
You may need to create the "logs" folder in that location, then create the empty "After Effects Log.txt" there.
Once done, launch After Effects. If it crashes, check if the After Effects Log file is populated and share it.
Looking forward to your response.
Thanks,
Nishu
