After Effects 2020 is crashing when starting

Community Beginner ,

I only recently upgraded to AE cc 2020 and it worked fine for the first few times. But a day after I went to open after effects and it loads to the point where it says "Initialising MediaCore" then it crashes almost instantly. I've tried allowing mediacore on windows firewall and I've tried deleting my plugins and none worked.

I've seen a similar issue to this where AE stalls at the point where it says "Initialising MediaCore" but I think my issue is different because it does not stall, instead it closes about 1 second later and it brings up a different crash screen.

I would really appreciate some help as soon as possible thank youae 2020 sucks.jpg

Would you update your graphic card driver? Or would you reset your preferences of After Effects?

Hi ionisity,

Sorry for your issue with After Effects.

Usually, it happens because of the plug-ins stored in the MediaCore folder. Go to the following locations and remove all the files and folders (except dummy.txt): C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore

Let us know how it goes.

Thanks,

Nishu
