I have a very short composition and when I played it, the preview and audio were all of a sudden extremely sped-up and the audio became high pitched. How do I fix this?

Wait for the preview to cache and repeat and it should playback at normal speed. It helps to have the Info Panel open so you can see what is going on.

If that does not fix the problem, purge everything using the Edit menu.

If that also fails and this is a new behavior then give us comp, system, and workflow details so we have some idea about what is going on in your comp. I did a comp last month that was only 20 frames long but it had about 50 layers and took about 40 minutes to render.

Hi Rick! I'm having this same issue, I've actually read a few of your responses and I still can't figure out what's happening with mine.

I have a Macbook running macOS Catalina, AE is version 17.1.1. My framerate and preview rate are the same (29.97), if I make the preview rate 15 it sounds normal but obviously it doesn't render and save normal.

My frame rate was actually set to 60 for some reason, I have no idea how that got changed, but thank you anyways!
