The error message that I get when I open After Effects v22.01 is the following:
After Effects can't continue: The Common Extensibility Platform (CEP) suite couldn't be loaded. You may need to reinstall.
I purchased a brand new Macbook Pro 16" M1 Max and while migrating all my apps to the new MacBook it migrated my Adobe apps. When I tried to open After Effects it gave me the above message. I have uninstalled and reinstalled a number of times. I have used the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner to remove all Adobe's apps and reinstalled and still the same problem but only with After Effects. Other apps open fine. I have checked on the permissions in Security & Privasy under preferences. I have allowed read and write permissions to all folders and subfolders in the applications folder. I have installed the previous version and it still doesn't open and then I updated from the previous version to the most recent, still nothing. I tell it not to migrate previous preferences.
Has anyone encountered this problem recently on the new Apple products or know any other possible solutions?
Hi nicolec40966807,
Sorry for the crash.
Would you mind creating a new user account (with admin rights) and trying to launch After Effects in it? If it doesn't help, I'd suggest doing a clean install one more time. After running the cleaner tool, be sure to remove all Adobe files and folders inside Application and Library folders manually.
Let us know if it helps.
Thanks,
Nishu
