Selecting any of the suggested options - nothing happens, app closes. As you can imagine this has put a stops on all work. So this is fairly dire!
Things that DON'T WORK, Manually trashing prefs. Uninstalling and reinstalling through Adobe CC app. Restarting PC multiple times.
My system:
Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X 24-Core Processor 3.80 GHz
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
96Gb RAM (because one slot is down currently)
Not the answer anyone wants but I solved this by resetting my PC and deleting all files, all settings and starting from scratch. Laborious and wasted 4 hours of my life, but I can return to work on Monday. Hurrah.

Just to add - all drivers are up to date and I can run AE v22.6.5 as a stopgap.

Is there a .crash file that is left on your desktop or somewhere else on your machine that you can post the contents of back here? I'm assuming you're not getting the "AfterFX.exe has crashed, submit a report" dialog?
My guess is there is some sort of third-party encoder/decoder (perhaps from a webcam or some other software installed) that is interferring with AE being able to startup correctly.

Yes, no AE dialogue about submitting reports to Adobe and no .crash files. I suspect I turned that off a while ago.
It must be 3rd party software, this is all I can think. Maybe plugins? It's like trying to find a needle in a haystack here.

Sorry to hear about the crash, lpezz.
Have you recently changed your GPU? When does the After Effects crash? At the splash screen or post launch?
Let us know.
Note: Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.
Thanks,
Nishu

GPU is the same. No recent updates to that.
It just refuses to open. I can select every option on the Crash Repair dialogue, and it just terminates the program. I even thought I'd try installing v24 as I've never used that version and apparently that has the same issues, despite v24 never having had a crash.
