I just got After Effects CC with the free trial. It works mostly fine, but the camera won't move, even though I put and altered keyframes on the position, point of interest, and orientation. I have the view set to Active Camera. When I tried setting the view to front, the frame showed that the camera was moving and rotating, and the transformation settings say that it is too, but the Active Camera view says otherwise. Anyone know why?

Note that the camera only influences 3D layers. Maybe you have just 2D layers in your composition?

If you are new to AE please type animating camera in the Search Help field and study some of the resources you will be pointed to. Basically if you create a solid, make it 3D and then add a camera and use the unified camera tool to move the camera around things will work just fine. If you didn't do that then you should study up a bit on how to animate a camera before you go any further.

I also had this issue. Double check that the little sun icon is unselected. I brought in vectors and selected this option and couldn't figure out why the camera would move but the objects wouldn't.This was why. Not sure why this happens though.

Sometimes you're not in Active Camera View. That little dropdown menu from the Composition Panel may be changed without notice to Front View. It seems like anything have changed, you may think still in Active Camera View, but you're not. Then you move the camera and nothing is moving like it should do. Very uncommon to happen, that's why even experienced users, may be wondering what's going on.
If you create a new camera, you should not see the camera itself.

I was just going to delete this but figured it might help someone out. Solution: Before creating or parenting object to the null, Auto-orientate the object first. Then parent to null. Honestly, it should work either way. But it won’t on my end
