After Effects: Change position while rotating to point of focus

I am working on a world map. My idea is to have location markers on the map and pan across the map while highlighting different locations with the markers. It will function like a video game HUD- as the camera pans across, the location markers will rotate so they are always oriented away from the center of the comp.

I was wondering if there was a way to create a null object or something which the location markers will always rotate towards. I could attach this to the camera's point of interest so that the markers rotate towards the middle of the video I am making. Any ideas?

Btw, this is my first post, so sorry if I a doing something incorrectly.

You can tie the Camera's Point of Interest to the position of null with an expression. Just reveal the position property of the Null, then Alt/Option-click on the stopwatch for Point of interest, then drag the pickwhip to the position property of the Null. The null can then be animated.
