My After Effects keeps crashing at start up saying that the memory that has been alocated is not enough. I have seen online that i need to purge my cache but I can not even enter After Effects to do that. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times and I just do not know what to do anymore. If anyone can help, that would be great 🙂
I launch After Effects by going into creative cloud and clicking on the icon there. From there it kept throwing the error, even though I did not have a project open. When I launch it again and it gives me the option for safe mode, it still crashes.
For some reason when I opened a project, though, the error stopped popping up and I got to clear the cache.
So i guess the problem sort of sorted itself out.
Thank you for your help though, I really do appreciate it. 🙂

Sorry to hear about the crash.
How do you launch After Effects? Are you double-clicking a project file to open it? Try opening it by clicking its icon and see if you're able to launch. If you can, open your project file and try to identify which layer is causing the memory limit to be exceeded by turning the layers off one by one.
Try to launch After Effects in Safe Mode if you can not launch it by clicking it icon.
Let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Nishu

Would you try to uninstall After Effects, using Adobe CC cleaner tool? You also manully delete cache after the uninstall. The cache directory is mentioned by After Effects preference settings.

I have the same problem. After Effects worked on Sunday and then it crashed and has not worked since. I have tried to trigger Safe mode but I seem unable to get it to trigger. I can see AfterFX in the task manger but it sticks at 1,020,504K everytime and goes no further. I crash it out and try again but the same thing happens. I have since uninstalled everything and reinstalled it, same problem. Not sure what to do. I have seen that Creative Cloud Cleaner might be needed but I have a lot of other CC apps that work fine. If I use this it seems non specific to After FX and it will clear everything. Is this my only option?
