Hi,
I have been having issues with After Effects crashing during renders since the end of October.
The crashes seem to happen randomly throughout the renders.
I have the issues with crashing when I have been using Ae 22.1.1, Ae 18.0.0 and the Beta, It also crashes in Media Encoder.
The project has about 10 comps which are 30seconds - 1min in length, all of which are chroma-keying heavy and with other FX's.
I have been using the Red Giant VFX suite and Universe on most shots.
The footage is 4K (3840x2160), 25FPS, .MXF file format and with a H264 - MPEG -4 AVC video codec.
I have done a clean install of the OS system and all Adobe apps and plug-in in November and continue to have this issue.
Sometimes there is no error warning during the crash, Ae will just close, sometimes the whole system will crash and restart, and recently I have been getting error code 4100.
Currently I am rendering out the comps as a TIFF sequence until it crashes, and then I have to restart the render, ac you can imagine making this an extremely time consuming and inconvient process.
I am working on:
iMac Pro (2017)
Processor: 3 GHz - 10 Core Intel Xeon W
Memory: 32GB 2666 MHz DDR4
Graphics: Radeon Pro Vega 64 16GB
MacOS Monterey Version 12.0.1
Is there anything that can be done to fix this issue? thank you.

That doesn't look like any standard AE error code, so this may come deep from within a system component or CoDec. I would check the system logs.

Hi Mylenium,
Thank you for getting back to me.
For whatever reason all the log files created for After Effects by following the video you provided appear at zero bytes and contain no information that i can see.
Media Encoder had one file with information, I also found two logs from a folder outside the aep project file which i have attached.
There is a screenshot to show the AE log files with zero bytes.
I noticed one log mentioned I did not have enough RAM, After Effects has 28GB out of 32GB of available RAM, I also have my cache set to 50GB.
One time when using daisy disk to clean the system I noticed the cache had gone over the allocated space by nearly 100GB, since clearing it appears to have stayed at 53.7GB.
My 1TB harddrive still has around 229.07GB of remaining space.
Thank you.

Hi there,
We appreciate you writing in. The system information looks good enough. Could you share a crash log saved on your computer as suggested by the expert above?
It'll help us to analyze the crash.
Meanwhile, please test the issue after resetting the preferences and let us know if it brings any change. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45VoFvSs-JI

Hey Shivangi,
Thank you for responding, resetting the preferences helped for a little while, but it has begun crashing again now, After Effects is not showing me the error code anymore, it will just crash without warning, during renders and while working within the project, it was only crashing during the renders before I reset my preferences.
After Effects has seemed to have created new logs today, from the location Mylenium mentioned in the first comment, I shall attach them, not sure why they were zero bytes previously.
Thank you.
