Hello,

I am not sure about your environment of OS, version of AE, graphic card. If you are a Windows user, I would recommend you try to upgrade the driver of the graphic card first. If you mention your specification of PC, I may be able to give more advice.

Hi djafargolet,

We're sorry for the issue. I understand After Effects freezes and then crashes everytime you try to use it. Here I few things we'd like to know to understand the issue better:

Also, please try cleaning media cache:

  1. Edit > Purge > All memory and Disk cache
  2. Edit > Preferences > Media & Disk Cache > Empty Disk Cache/ Clean Database & Cache

Let us know if that helps.

Thanks,

Shivangi

I dont get any error messages when it crashes it just says Adobe After Effects is not responding and every project like that. I also was

trying to clean media cashe

  1. Edit > Purge > All memory and Disk cache
  2. Edit > Preferences > Media & Disk Cache > Empty Disk Cache/ Clean Database & Cache

but it also doesn't help me.

I cant even preview my project because it stucks.

Now, you ARE aware that the recommended amount of memory to run AE is 8GB and not 4GB, correct?  And it will work better with 16GB.  You need more RAM.
