After effects crashing when rendering or saving a file

My ae keeps crashing if I start a new project and try to save it. As soon as it opens file explorer for me to choose where to save it, it crashes with the following messages:

It is also crashing if I try to render a composition and gives me the following messages:

Or this one also comes up

 

These are the steps I've taken so far to try and resolve the issue but none have worked:

• restarted the pc
• scanned pc for viruses
• removed 3rd party drivers
• uninstalled AE as well as removed folder from program files
• changed render settings to cinema 4d

This is happening in version 24.6.1.

PC info:

Processor 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-11300H @ 3.10GHz   3.11 GHz
Installed RAM 16,0 GB (15,8 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor

Edition Windows 11 Pro
Version 22H2
Installed on ‎2023/‎02/‎27

Are you getting the same result if you render using Media encoder ?

Have you tried to resetting AE Preferences settings ?

I've just tried to render using Media Encoder now and it crashed as soon as
I tried to select where to save the file. Unfortunately I've also reset the
Preference settings.

Sorry to hear about the issue.

Can you try running After Effects as administrator (right-click its icon and select Run as administrator)? Also, try changing the permissions as suggested in the following article: https://adobe.ly/4cQjPSS

I had the same issue, Premiere Pro 24 and 25 but also After Effects 24 & 25 were crashing each time I was either opening a project or saving something. The File Explorer window was crashing the app.  
I treied diabling audio and video plugins, cleaning the cache and ressetting the prefs, but not luck!! Until it struck my mind something... It was the updated ASPERA plugin that was conflicting. I uninstalled it and now AEX and PP work like charm.
