Unfortunately there is little hope of recovering such files. If you haven't already, the usual trick of importing a project into an empty project might be the last glimmer of hope, but this is not guaranteed to bring back even a single comp even if AE doesn't throw another error. With that in mind it is usually best to simply start over instead of wasting time waiting for a solution and then make good use of the Save a Copy... and Save Incrementally... functions to create backups.
