After effects gets stuck when changing device class to ASIO from MME

Community Beginner ,
May 28, 2018 May 28, 2018

Hello

I started using my new Zoom UAC-8 and when trying to change the device class to ASIO the software gets stuck while installing.

Is this supposed to take a lot of time or is it an issue that I can solve?

Thanks in advance.

Impossible to know without actual system info, driver versions etc.. Typically such a behavior with external audio devices indicates a driver initialization issue, which totally could mean that when called from AE the driver simply doesn't find the device or it won't respond. Could well be that you need to launch another piece of software before openingt AE to be able to use it.

Your audio board is listed as an USB device. Windows programs will not see a proper audio device. I'd check the driver whether there is some sort of emulation switch or auxiliary utility that takes care of this and maps the outputs.
