After Effects GPU crash, returns with white composition screen

I've got a custom built PC. Every now and then After Effects will panic, screen goes black, and when it comes back on AE is unusable (can't click or play or scrub), but it's not frozen or "Not Responding" (I can right click on it on the toolbar and select close window), and the composition window is totally white. Any video preview window open comes back white. This makes me think its a GPU issue. This happens most often when I am using Trapcode Particular (not playback, just when I'm dialing in settings), or when I am dealing with text (when I double click to edit, or if I click and drag text box to move position). This particular instance, the crash happened when I double clicked the text box to paste some text in my clipboard. After hitting enter and playback, the crash happened. I have exhausted my options with troubleshooting. Anyone seen this before?

Sorry to see that you're encountering this issue. It does appear to be related to the GPU drivers. Are you using either of the recent NVidia drivers listed on the Known Issues page for AE? https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/kb/known-issues-after-effects.html. You may also want to reach out to Maxon about the issues with Particular, though those may also be related to the GPU drivers.

Thanks John, I tried reverting the drivers back to 528.49 (Studio), and tested it for a week. I am still having the issue where AE crashes, whole screen goes black, and comes back with AE's comp and preview windows totally white. This happened again this morning on a fresh restart of the PC after literally importing MP4 video clips into the project panel. It seems anything can set this off. Selecting a clip to alter the effects, clicking and dragging a clip to move it around, importing media... This happens maybe once every 2 hours or so. Some days it never happens. Some days it happens 5 times in a day.
Any other thoughts?
