is there another way to delete the perference file? because everytime do the Command+Option+Shift its not working. it just brings up the crash error box

It seems there is a problem with your GPU. Have you tried reinstalling the drivers of your graphics card?

Thanks for reaching out. We have observed this issue with some other users as well. Could you share the crash report to help us understand the issue better?
Try removing the third-party plug-ins if you are using any. Navigate to HD > Library > Application Support > Adobe > Common > Plugins > 7.0 > MediaCore. Except for dummy.txt, move all the files and folders on your Desktop. Now try to launch After Effects.
