So, when I am trying to use after effects and use motion tile and render it, it just crashes straight away up to the video I put motion tile on. The size is 400x400 and mirror, I've been trying again and again but it keeps crashing wanting me to save it and saying it has damaged the item. I have no idea what to do and this is just annoying me.

ST,

Seems to be OK on my rig. Did you generate a crash report? Can you share it? Are you meeting system requirements? Let us know.

Thanks,
Kevin

I always try to avoid having AE think about more than it needs to.  That applies to the footage, too -- if it's highly-compressed, I'll transcode it to a good-quality codec; that way, AE has less thinking to do.  This is a particularly good thing to do when messing around with time in some way, or really messing a lot with the piece of video.

There is an initial simple action you take. You reset the preference setting.

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out. There could be many reasons which could make an application crash. We'll be able to decipher reason only after taking a look at the crash log as asked by Kevin. You may refer to this link: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects/faq-how-to-find-after-effects-crash-logs-on-your-comput...

In addition to the suggestions shared by @Dave_LaRonde and @ToolfarmJP above, we'd like to get more information.

  • Which version of After Effects are you using?
  • Have you tested the issue on more than one project?

Looking forward to a response.

Thanks,

Shivangi
