After Effects Preview and render are not working after update even in prior verions

Hello,

 

I'm hoping someone can help me as the last week has been extremely frustrating. I've been using adobe on my PC for years and have run into the odd error but nothing like this.

 

It seems like in the past week, After Effects has become useless. It has just started giving me problem after problem. From the Composition window not updating and freezing on the first frame, from not rendering in After effects, also rendering in Media encoder from After Effects gets a video to about 3/4th of the way there and then it just pauses and the time slowly keeps goin up but no progress is made. Even draging in a 8Kb PNG will freeze the program and it needs to be restarted. It even freezes when I just try to exit the program normally.

 

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling prior versions and that just made things worse. I could work, but randomly I would get a Blue screen of death with a VIDEO_MEMORY error and have to reboot constantly. 

 

Windows 10 is up to date, I've updated all drivers, I've cleared my cache.  All of the other Adobe programs are working fine, as long as it dousn't involve After Effects. Premiere works fine, no issues at all.

 

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

After Effects (22.5) is currently installed, I've turned off
