Looking at the thread from which this was branched, am I right in guessing that you are running AE 14.0.1?
What happens when you try to launch it?
Do you get errors? If so, what is the exact text of each message?
Does it hang at a certain point?
What OS do you have?
What system specs?
When was the last time it worked? What version was that?

- Yes, I updated from, 14.0 which was fine. I rolled back to it and it has the same issue.
- It does not even go past the splash page / loading.
- "Adobe After Effects CC 2017.0 has stopped working. The problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
- Windows 10. Update installed 11/9 "Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607 for x64-based Systems (KB3200970)."

It sounds like you got a Windows update that messed After Effects up.
Can you try CC 2015.3 and CC 2014 to see if they work?

Most virus scanners / malware software is doing it. Emsisoft is not even allowing the user to allow AE to run. I am now using Webroot now and although it does warn you that AE acting as malware (since Adobe Creative Cloud collects our info), it allows you to allow it to continue running.
I've tested AVG, McAfee, Bit Defender, Emisisoft, and Webroot. They are all giving the same warning.

Does turning them off solve your problem too? (If so, please mark loepzuiver83's answer correct so other folks who come to the forums can find the solution more quickly.)
