After creating a shape eg rectangle, moving it and setting a position key on this object its anchor point jumps to random position.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Install AE 2025 and run it
  2. Enable "Center anchor point in new shape layers" in preferences
  3. Create a shape eg rectangle
  4.  Move the shape to a different position
  5.  Set a position key
  6. As the result of setting a key the Anchor point jumps itself to different position

Thanks for writing in. I gave it a test. The anchor point stays at the same place where it was created (at the center of the shape). Do you mind sharing a screen recording demonstrating the behavior?

We're here to help.

Thanks,

Nishu

Actiually it is not only related to keyframing its properties but also happens after switching to Selection tool.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a shape layer

2. Select "Selection Tool" (V shortcut or using mouse)

3. Move the shape and Click outside the shape or create a keyframe (position, zoom or rotation)

4. The anchor is not centered as it was when it was created in step 1

Check the attached recording demonstrating the behavior.

Thanks for sharing the details. I see what's happening here.

When you move the object right after creating it, notice that the shape (rectangle, star, whatever you created) is highlighted in the layers panel (screenshot). When the shape is highlighted, it will move only that shape, and the anchor point remains where it is. If you click on the name of the layer to highlight it and move it, it'll move the layer and keep the anchor point in the center of the shape.

Hope it helps. Let us know if that doesn't fix.

Thanks,
