please note i've been working on this project on the 28th, and the last time anything qas put in the auto-save was a week ago. what gives?

Apparently, you named one project "Untitled Project" another "Untitled Project1" and another "stuff". What happens if you open one of those project files? What are you expecting to see? Here's the autosave folder from the project I just wrapped up:

The root folder is the date the project started_(year month day) then the project name. Folders are sorted by name. Next is the Test Render folder for client approval, then the FX renders for the editor in a shared folder, then the FX folder, start date_project name, then the Auto-Save folders. The second Auto-save folder was generated when I opened a previous autosave project to revert to a previous version of the effect I was working on. Inside the root autosave folder, you will also see logs and auto-saved copies of the AEP that was sent to the AME to generate proofs for the director's approval. You will also see a Footage folder in there. In the root folder for the project, you will also see 4 folders containing the original Red footage.

This is a file naming structure for me that I started more than 40 years ago when I cut my first documentary. Wait, you say, there was no digital workflow 40 years ago. That's right. This is basically industry-standard naming conventions that started when people started using slates to number takes. I can search my drives for the date, project name, or even footage. If you don't set up a well thought out file structure and you have more than 10 projects on your computer you are going to be in a lot of trouble very quickly.
