What would be the best practice in terms of converting a video from 19.5:9 to 16:9? I am creating an app preview video for the app store and need to accomodate for the 5.5" phone size. I am new to After Effects so purchased a template from the community which has made things a lot easier and I've learned quite a lot. Apologies if my terminology is confusing.
I went into the composition settings and changed each layer comp to one of the presets Social Media 16:9 Portrait. However, since I have layers within layers, I've started to run into issues. I'm not entirely sure how to properly scale the mask layer either. Ideally, I'd like to run something like the Scale Composition script but that locks the proportions.
Am I on the right track in terms of converting the aspect ratio or would you reccomend another way?
Here's an example of the layers/comps if that helps. Thanks in advance.

Drop your original comp in a new one with the right frame size and frame rate, then scale the original comp to fit the new one as needed.
