Hi, I am a beginner when it comes to after effects and am just trying to teach myself. I can't seem to figure out why my text is blurry in after effects. It looks okay but then when I look a bit closer you can see that the edges aren't sharp. I get some kind of message about my performance every time after effects opens. I thought maybe that had something to do with it. Can anyone explain this to me. Thanks! Screen Shot 2017-01-18 at 3.37.17 PM.pngScreen Shot 2017-01-18 at 3.40.26 PM.png

Hi Achey,

I do not think the first screenshot has to do anything with your original issue.

You just do not have enough room available for the Media Cache.

Memory and storage in After Effects

Try this:

After Effects will only ever show you the actual pixels of your composition. So, if you view it at anything above 100%, it will look pixelated because it's showing you the actual pixels. If you have vector images (text, Illustrator file, shape layer, masks, etc.), AE shows the rasterized result in the composition window. So, again, viewing it at anything above 100% it is showing the rasterized result at the comp's resolution which is unrelated to the viewer's zoom level.
