Camera Tracking "Crane shot" with subtle Parallax?

Hi everyone,

I've learned how to camera track in various situations but this is one that I have never delt with. I basically want to add a bunker entrance in the mountain but I can't seem to establish a good ground plane. I'm using Element 3D to view .obj files in Ae but I'm also open to Blender if easier. How would you approach this "set extension"?

I uploaded the clip I sent to Ae from Premiere Pro. The uncut clip is longer. (I added Lumetri Color to help tracking since the original is Raw)

I tried Camera Tracking with Advanced analysis on your shot and got this in about 4 minutes. If you must add a 3D object to the scene then make sure you set an origin and ground plane first that sticks (the pale blue layer in the center) and then several other solids to the scene and rotate them so they conform to the geometry as well as you can. The back center worked well. This is a shot that needs advanced analysis and a bit of work to lock one of the surfaces to the scene, but it is doable.

If you can approximate the position of the bunker and render a still image of it Mocha AE Corner Pin or Stabilized Power pin as shown in this tutorial will work. I don't see any reason that this shot can't be tracked successfully in After Effects.

Thank you so much, as always, for your in-depth replies.

I was wondering why your solids are checkered as mine are plain. Also, did you chose more than three point to create those track solids?

Regarding corner pin with Mocha, I'm not quite sure what you mean. Isn't corner pin more for 2D elements to be tracked in the scene such as graffitis, text, matte paintings? Are you suggesting that doingf a corner pin track and simply adjusting the rotation of the 3D object would work the same as the 3D camera track?

Thank you very much!
