These blue numbers that you can click and drag are called (I think) "hot text."
When I click and drag one of them, the value changes. That's great... but the cursor is still moving around the screen. If it hits the edge of the monitor, I'm unable to continue changing that value. ALSO, when I release the left mouse button, the cursor does not jump back to where it started (hovering over the hot text.)
Both of these things work this way in Premiere, which I think is MUCH better.
Is there an option / preference / setting / mod / plugin or ANYTHING that can get the hot text to work the way it does in Premiere? Thanks.

CC2018 PPro seems to have improved in this area but I still prefer what AE offers — PPro's rendition is too sensitive; leading to a more difficult experience when scrubbing towards an intended, visual target.
In AE (and PPro now), you have three speed modes with which to Scrub property/slider values.
Hold down CTRL and you scrub, to change values via single decimal digits. Hold down SHIFT while scrubbing, to change values by values of 10s. Without a modifier key, value changes are in integers.
These tips should help you face fewer issues while you scrub slider values.
