Can't use Mocha anymore - Crashesh 100%

Hello, I have updated from Creative Cloud 2017 to 2018 After Effects and other apps, but I got to the big trouble, I cannot use Mocha masking anymore, it was working okay in the previous versions but this 2018 doesn't work anymore, as soon as I copy the masked Shape from Mocha AE or Mocha Pro it gives the error, I have attached the file. It happens on empty AE, without even opening the project, as soon it has the mask-shape in the clipboard it dies badly.

How can I fix it now? I see Creative Cloud has removed the option to install CC 2017 anymore and only letting to install CC 2014, WTF ADOBE?

The After Effects update that came out last night (might take up to 24 hours to propagate to Adobe's servers around the world) fixes this issue.

Workarounds:

Mocha AE:

remove the bundled "mocha shape" plug-in (leaving you only the option to paste as masks)

you can access it in the After Effects folder in effects->mochaAe folder

I would recommend just changing the extension so you can change it back later if you want. this will disable the mocha shape plugin, but will give you the option to paste as masks.

you will get an error when you come back to Ae but just click ok

Mocha Pro:

avoid “copying mocha mask data” to clipboard. Instead, when using Mocha for masking, use the “Convert AE Masks” button in the plug-in interface to convert Mocha shapes to AE masks. All other export formats found in Mocha Pro & Mocha VR are working fine.

'but will give you the option to paste as masks.'

How do you do this?  I copy the shape in Mocha but I can't paste it anywhere in AE

*** Update - great - found it. Paste Mocha Mask under 'File'

Thanks!

I sent a note to BorisFX and just got this reply:

'Adobe knows about the issue and a fix will be coming in december. '
