Hi all,
I'm running into an issue this morning where I can't import .c4d files into After Effects. After selecting File > Import, I select the .c4d file and nothing happens. The finder window goes away, but nothing pops up in my Project files. I've also tried clicking and dragging the .c4d file into the project, but no luck with that either.
I decided I could try to just create a new .c4d from After Effects, but after selecting File > New > MAXON CINEMA 4D File and entering a file name, nothing happens. The file is created, but Cinema 4D doesn't launch.
I'm on a fresh install of Adobe After Effects CC 2018 15.1.1 (reinstalling didn't help)
CINEMA 4D is R17.055 (Student Version - Restricted License)
OS is High Sierra 10.13.1 on a 2015 rMBP.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
You can, Maybe the student license is not supporting.
Are you able to use work if you the default settings of cineware, if yes then try using the latest student version of cinema 4d which is R19 with After Effects?
Even I use Cinema 4d Studio R19 (not student license) with AE - Here the screenshot

Are you using the student version of Cinema 4d R17.055 in the cineware plugin options or the default Cinema 4d R 19 lite version?

Is it possible I'm using both and that's what the problem is?
Here's what the options say:
Rendering: Cinema 4D installation used as renderer.
/Applications/Adobe After Effects CC 2018/Plug-ins/MAXON CINEWARE AE/(CINEWARE Support)/bin/CineRenderAE.app
Editing: Cinema 4D installation used for "Edit Original"
/Applications/MAXON/CINEMA 4D R17/CINEMA 4D.app

Thanks for your help. I believe you're correct. I was able to get Cineware to launch C4D by changing the "Editing" application to the Cinema 4D Lite located in the After Effects plugins folder. I'll use it for now while I troubleshoot what's going on with my student copy. Thanks again!
