Cinema 4d Renderer

Confession, have not used the Cinema4d renderer yet.  Decided to mess around earlier this evening-- and for the life of me could not get any layer to display any updates.  For example-- after making a layer 3d, if I then try to add curvature, I see the wireframe change around the layer (video, in this case)-- but the layer itself stays flat, unchanged, on the screen, behind the wireframe.  So I cannot "see" the effect on the layer.  Even simple x-plane orientation changes have the same result.  After about a minute, I get  "After Effects error: CINEMA 4D: Render failed."  Changing back to classic 3d fixes the issue (except for cinema4d-only features, of course).   Advise?

There are problems with certain GPU's and the C4D rendering engine. One of my machines has Intel onboard graphics and in CC2020 the C4D rendering option always fails exactly the way you describe. If I use CC 2019 it works as advertised. It's slow because of the very basic Intel onboard GPU, but it works. Try using CC 2019. If that works, problem solved.

Good info, thanks.  I use the Nvidia Quadro P2000, 5gig, an ok card-- which supports Cuda, which I believe is required for the 4d render.  Will look into downgrading as a test..

Question to Adobe-- does After Effefts not support the Quadro P2000 for the 4d renderer?
