Hi,

I have a simple scene where a light pass trough a ceiling and cast shadow on a wall and a floor. My problem is that the render in C4D look fine but in AE it look jaggy. My render is only black and white, I only use the render as a matte in AE. My render is standard final in AE.

Do you mean that you are using the C4D rendering engine or are you using Cineware to render in AE. There are quality and aliasing settings in the Advanced section of the Composition settings if you are using the C4D rendering Engine. There are also quality settings in Cineware. I'm sorry but I don't understand your workflow so that's about all the help I can give at this time.

Frankly, those screenshots don't help. We need to see the entire composition UI with the modified properties of the layers giving you problems revealed. Just press the U key twice to reveal the changes you have made to the layer and PrintScreen and paste to the forum.

Hi,

The first screenshot is from AE, rendered with cineware in standard final mode, the second screenshot is from C4D lite rendered in standard mode defaults setting. There no effect on the C4D layer in AE beside cineware. Whitout going in the details about the render settings in C4D(wich are set to standard default), and or the light setting in C4D, I just wanted to know if this is a "know issue" to have difference in the render quality in AE cineware and C4D lite, because AE cineware use the C4D render so it should look the same if I use standard render in both application, or Im wrong?

Anyway I will just edge blur it!

Thanks

If the first screenshot is rendered using the C4D rendering engine then you have the settings fouled up:

I'm still not completely clear on your workflow. Maybe I'm tired. Been up for 20 hours...

Hi,

I didnt use the cinema 4D renderer inside AE, I use the cineware plugin, so my C4D lite scene(project) is linked in AE by the cineware plugin and therefore is supposed to use the exact same render setting I have C4D lite, but it doesn't apparently!

Thanks anyway, like I said i will blur the jaggy edge in AE.

That's really weird. I'll have to check it out. Is your AE up to date? What is your OS?

My AE version is  14.2.1.34

I also linearized my working space color profile, and check both melange check box in C4D preference.

So yeah, that's really weird indeed!

Thanks for your time, but its all good with the edge blur!
