Hi all!
I'm fairly new to AE and my main programs are more Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign. A fairly big difference I've noticed between the programs is AE's color management is a bit clunky. Since I'm mainly using the program for vector animations, having quick access to colors is very useful for me.
I haven't found help online beyond copying and pasting hex values per object, creating a layer of color solids in my composition, or using the eyedropper on a CC library color swatch (which always gives me the wrong hex value that I have to manually adjust). I seems you were able to access colors more easily with Adobe color themes a few years ago, but that seems to have been discontinued.
Any advice? I figure there may be a setting I'm not seeing or something.

There is no swatches palette and that pretty much it. There are a bunch of script palettes on AEScripts.com that can help. Other than that you really need to be careful with your wording. "Color Management" is a whole different thing than managing presets and swatches and just like AI, PS etc. for your hex codes to have any relevancy you need to instate proper CM. You may want to read the online help on some of that stuff.
