I know Ive had a similar conversation with yall before, but having trouble with an effect-

* Using CR/CT with illustrator elements

Trying to use Distort >Ripple on a precomp layer, but once its nested with CR/CT, as i understand AE's processing order, the effect becomes over-rided. I know theres a way around this but having trouble figuring it out, thought Id throw it out here while i tinker with it.

Thanks

No way around this. Effects are pixel based and will always rasterize the layer, no matter what. All you can do is import the artwork into as large a pre-comp as possible and use that.
