Copy and paste paint stroke to next frame

I've looked at and read alot of info on how to copy and paste a paint stroke.  But I'm still having trouble knowing which switch to have on or off and most the info I studied doesn't give a lot of detail on how to go about it.

Can anyone help please?

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.

It looks like you are using Rotobrush instead of the Paint tool.

When using Rotobrush, once an area is selected, you cannot add to it if you click and drag inside the already selected area. You either have to hold down the Alt/Option key to subtract from the current selection or click outside the current selection.
