Display Acceleration Disabled in After Effects CC 2017?

Whenever I try to do a preview, I see flashing text that reads "Display Acceleration Disabled". I've checked the project settings and see where I can switch it from '(whatever the brand name is) software only", however it is grayed out and unresponsive when clicked. What should I do?

Hello,

1. You move to C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2017\Support Files .

2. You open Command Prompt application (cmd.exe).

3. You drag GPUSniffer.exe into Command prompt window and hit the enter key.

4. You get the information of your GPU.

The problem was solved for me (and several other people) by updating GPU drivers.

It has been solved for other people by removing the GeForce Experience from their machines.

Try both of those things and see if it works.

Where are you seeing this text?

If it's in the interface elements (that is, the grey area outside of your composition), it's likely an issue with the GeForce Experience app. It injects itself into GPU-accelerated apps to let you know that the GeForce Experience can't work there. The easiest solution is to uninstall the GeForce Experience app.

I believe you can do it through the Programs and Features option on Windows. (You can get to it via the control panel or just clicking the Windows button and typing the word Programs.

I am facing the same problem.

Capture.PNG

as you can see i am getting this display acceleration disabled error due to which even when i am previewing a simple shape layer it does not run in real time and lags a lot

previously when i used after effect cc 2015 then the preview was fast and i never had a problem. But now it is slow on the very same machine.

please don't suggest to go back to previous version. Moreover in the file>project settings i have used mercury GPU acceleration and mercury software both the settings but doesn't help.

So if you want help you might consider trying

to answer the questions that were already asked.

Or you could wait and see if someone asks them again, just for you.

Same here. The latest versions of After Effects have all been bordering on unusable.

Hello,

Your Optix.dll might be old to use the new series of Nvidia graphic cards. The article may help you to improve it.
