Ah man. I only went and did the silly Dropbox update which shifted all of my files to a 'new place'.
I hadn't read exactly what was involved in the update, and I was right at the end of an important animation project. Gah. Silly me.
Afterwards, all of my linked files were 'somewhere else' and I had to relink 400 files.
FML. I have completed that this evening, however I can't re-link any sequenced illustrations. An error message comes up and says, "After Effects error: Can't import as a sequence. Found no matches for the selected file name. (39 :: 44)"
I've tried re-importing the sequence in order to copy keyframes over, but the same error comes up. I tried putting all the layers into the project, which works fine, so that it might 'recognise' all the layers, but the same error comes up.
Wondering if anyone can help? Totally stuck. TIA.
Managed to work this out, for anyone else having this problem.

Many of the files says that they cannot be opened or read, in the screenshot. Did you try changing the directory of the files in a non-cloud folder like DropBox, G-Drive, OneDrive or Creative Cloud? Make sure you have the files downloaded on your storage disk, remember that storage clouds usually have a reference that shows you what files you have, but when you need them you have to download them because they are not really downloaded.
I hope it helps.

Ah no, I probably shouldn't have added that screenshot, that was just an example of what it looked like when I first opened AE after the update. I had to manually re-link all those files (argh!). I've managed to do that successfully, it's just the sequenced layers. I can't re-link, or import any at all. No idea what's going on.
