Echo Effect Question

Hello All,

I am currently using the Echo effect on one of my shape layers in my project.

Is there currently a way to make the effect taper out at the end instead of staying the same width as the shape layer the entire time?

Thank you for your help.

That's not how the effect works. It doesn't modify any geometry or for that matter layer content and is strictly pixel based. It literally does what the name says - it accumulates different previous states ("echoes") of the pixel buffer, nothing more. If you realyl want to create a geometry-based trail, you actually have to modify the shapes. The shape layer repeater stuff has been enhanced in the latest update to include tapering options, so maybe that's an option...

There is no scale option, only blend modes, and fade.

If you are pre-composing the moving shape layer could scale up the layer in the pre-comp to create a tapered trail of images.

Maybe if I saw a screenshot of what you are trying to achieve it would help us figure out an approach.
