error: internal verification failure, sorry! {PrepAndWrite() called on non-diskcacheable stuff}

I am getting this error whenever I export one particular comp out of 4 total. Here's the thing- these comps are self-made templates, as in I've duplicated one comp three additional times and made changes. They still export with no apparent issues, but this error pops up after the queue has been completed.

After Effects 17.0.2

iMac Pro (2017)

Catalina 10.15.3

The issue sounds related to the file and folder permission of Mac OS. Please check the permission of everyone.

I'm having the same issue. All my permissions seem fine. I'm able to eventually finish rendering the compositions, and whatever is going wrong seems to recover.

For example, I set up a queue to render last night:
I had 9 compositions, using 2 different templates with master properties set from imported .csv files.

Template 1: Both renders completed, but the log for each has multiple instances (well over fifty each) of this error, before completing, with no other errors.  Rendered files appear to be ok.

Template 2: The first copy renders, and the log also has this error, but only 18 copies of the error message. The remaining instances render without error, but averaged 40 minutes each to render. All compositions finished rendering, and appear to be ok.

For a check, I re-rendered one of the Template 1 compositions and this time got "only" 30 logged copies of the error, and the composition completed.

The exact text of the error is:

After Effects error: internal verification failure, sorry! {PrepAndWrite() called on non-diskcacheable stuff}

I am running After Effects 17.5.0 Catalina 10.15.7 (19H15) on:
Mac Pro (2019)

3.2 GHz 16-Core Intel Xeon W

160 GB 2933 MHz DDR4

AMD Radeon Pro Vega II 32 GB
4TB SSD internal for output

4TB SSD external for caching

4TB secure SSD for project files

Had this same issue recently. I did 2 things to fix it. First, while opening AE hold down control + option + shift (mac) to reset your prefs. Next, if you are working in a project that has any broken expressions...delete them.

Dump your cache and restart.  Hope this works for you.

Looks like no one has a working solution for this yet? I'm expeiencing this right now as well. I can't export anything all of a sudden, and I didn't even really change anything in my project from the last time I opened and exported from it successfully.

Same problem. Just started to appear. After Effects logs hundreds of errors in render!

"Error: Internal verification failure, sorry! {PrepAndWrite() called on non-diskcacheable stuff}"

AE 18.1

macOS 10.15.7

GPU: Radeon Pro Vega 48, 8 GB

Should we just ignore these warnings?

Hi, I had that error as well when rendering a specific project.. The cause of the problem seemed to be broken expressions as someone mentioned above^^:) I'd suggest you turn on the error log and go through your comps if you see this error again. It worked for me!
