Hello, I really hope someone can help me. Please note I am working from a work issued macbook and Adobe account.
SPECS:
MacOS Monterey 12.5.1
MacBook Pro 16 inch 2019
AFTER EFFECTS:
22.0.1 / 22.6
I was working from a mac with the exact same specs as above but due to an IT issue I had to swap laptops with a collague. I was given a wiped macbook so installed Adobe Cloud etc. Since working from this newly issued macbook none of the projects I created last week work. I get a mirage of error messages.
The projects were created and are hosted on Dropbox which we use for a remote network. I am accessing files from the cloud when I open the project. The error messages range from:
After Effects reading from file .... 3::6
After Effects Error 51::19
After Effects Error cannot reopen open file 3:130
After Effects cannot read file 86::1
I do not understand this as the projects were working perfectly. I since have changed the permissions on the mac so AE has full permission on the disk, as I thought that was the issue. I thought that maybe it was because it's pulling the information from the cloud, however, when I download the project file onto my disk I am still getting the error messages. Particulary "after effects moov file damaged unsupported" this is for mp4s! They're not even mov files and play perfectly.
I installed earlier versions of AE because I thought that was the issue, however, it has made no difference.
This is really stressing me out because I have a large workload and I'm new in my position. Have all the projects I have created somehow become corrupted?

Hey Charly_FG,
Sorry about the poor experience. Are you having this issue only with your current system? When importing the files to a new project, do you also get the error? Do you only get this error while reading media files in the project?
Thanks,
Ishan

Hi Charly_FG,
We can get it checked.
In which version of After Effects these projects were created? Do you mind sharing some details on the project? Did you use Rotobursh or mogrt in them? Any third-party plug-ins?
If possible, please share a project file with us to investigate.
We're here to help.
Thanks,
Nishu

Similar issue on M1 Macbook Pro 16 maxed out, can't open previously created project in the latest 23.0.0., any and all .MOV video files give error "this 'MooV' file is damaged or unsupported." after downloading them all from DropBox. Had to click through dozens of these error messages just to open the project. Project opens fine in previous versions as well as the Beta, which surprised me.

has this issue been solved? We are struggling alot with this, were a team of 6 designers and cross-share files all the time. We spend too much time renaming and moving files so that After Effects can somehow read them in if they were on another computer or stored as online-only.
Ideally, I feel Adobe should ask to trigger the downloading of linked files in any AE, IDD ir Illustrator project, and they should work without having to rename them or change their location

Hi Acacia27799877xqel,
Sorry for your issue.
Are your project file and Media files saved in a synced folder (Dropbox, Google drive, etc)? Also, what happens if you move the footage to a different location and relink in After Effects?
Let us know.
Thanks,
Nishu

Yes they are. However This shouldn't be an issue as I woudl assume most businesses work with these types of cloud storage systems/

This worked for me! Another solution you could try is clearing the conformed media cache under preferences > media & disk cache

I'm also having this exact same problem, as far as I know, there is no way to fix this. This issue may cost me my job.
