Essential Graphics and Apps in Different Language Version

New Here ,
Oct 21, 2020 Oct 21, 2020

Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding the process of creating Essential Graphics Assets. I mainly work with After Effects that was installed in the English version and have been creating assets for Essential Graphics which are shared with my colleagues. They, however, use German Version of Adobe Apps and my question is if the different App-language version may affect how well the Essential Graphics assets function? Do the assets created in my english AE version translate well and work as intended if used on the german version of other Adobe Apps?

Thanks for the help and I am looking forward to your informative replies.

Cheers,

Erwin

Haven't tested this myself, but since Essentail Graphics Assets are just special AE projects, I don't think there should be any problems. I'd do some simple testing first to see if you run into any issues.

It doesn't matter which language you're using the app in. the assets created, mogrt's, projects, or anything will remain as it is.

If you create text layers in German, they stay in German. Create in English, they stay in English.

Irrespective of the app language the other person is using.

This aged like milk 🙂
at least from 24.5 and upwards premiere needs to have the same language set, as the mogrt was created in...
I assume this is a bug ?

in 24.6 it has no effect if you switch the language -- it is just not working anymore xD
any infos on that ?

Is it possible to share a sample file or screenshot?

Thanks,

Hey there,
Thanks for your response!
I can't share anything from the project due to an NDA.
But it's not really necessary.

i.e. The MOGRT had a slider which influenced the Y-Pos of some animated text.
In Premiere the text was way offset due to the expression not working - cause it related to the "slider" effect. But Premiere was in german language - and tho related to the "schieberegler" instead.

This was never a problem before and MOGRTs always used the language they were created in - no matter what language was set in premiere.

And I do know this causes the error, cause I switched the AE-language to german - and it worked after fixing the code. And the other way around - the english MOGRT worked in the english PREMIERE...

And after that I adapted my Expressions to the universal index-numbers of the properties (instead of the property names) - That fixed it - and it's now usable on every language...

tested with windows and mac - same bug...

but i am a bit tired of being scared of every new version of your software - cause it always introduces new bugs and I have to spend a lot of time just avoiding those...
but I guess you hear that a lot 🙂

I will just script my stuff universal from now on and will comment my script.

thanks
best regards
Christoph

Sadly, you are completely wrong with that.
