Flip object (circle) changes position

New Here ,

Hi, I'm working on a project called "perspective of a circle" which is a piece of music. Now I start creating circles that flip/turn (3D opject) on the X, Y and Z axis (not at the same time, each time 1 of the axis)... I notice that the circle change position so when played as a loop there is a small "hick up" --> the circles "jumpes" a bit to the left... Maybe I miss an important setting, controlling all settings the only setting that changes is the axis I changes. Hope my English is clear enough to understand my problem/challange. Thanks a lot for helping me out. Kind regars, Jurgen

Without any screenshots it's hard to advise, but since I've been working as a 3D animator for years my first instinct would be a misaligned pivot point/ anchor point. Also check the pixel aspect ratio of the comp and the source footage just in case.

This sounds like the problem could be related to the Anchor Point, keyframe interpretation and/or memory and cache. Without screenshots showing us the modified properties of at least one of the layers that is giving you problems and the Anchor Point (layer selected), we can't know what is going on. Select the circle layer, press UU, and send us a screenshot and we can probably help you figure it out.

Hi Rick,

I will add 2 screenshots:

1) My basic circle where I used keyframes (X) to spin the circle. When I see the movement the turn isn't exactly at the middle.

2) When I duplicate layer 1 the dulication isn't on the same position, wonna turn this via Y so the 2 layers together work symmetrical

Thanks again: as a beginner in AE I know this is probaply something simple... Hope this doesn't make you "pffff". Cheers, Jurgen

Add on: just duplicated the 2nd layer and hide the first 1, seems that layer 2 and 3 are at the same position and turn as aspected. So something wrong (?) with the first layer I think.

Your anchor point for the ellipse should be reset. So should the anchor point for the layer. Then animating the rotation will work the way you expect it to.
