Hi,

I'm working on a 2 1/2 D sort of animation and was wondering if one of my 3D layers was an FLV file will it accept lights, cast shadows, etc?

Thanks in advance!

FLV is a legacy format that AE won't even import anymore, so you have to convert it. That aside a layer is a layer is a layer. There's no differentiation between file formats. A 3D layer based on an FLV is the same as one based on a MOV, a shape layer, an imported graphic and so on and they'll work just the same.
