Just wondering if anybody has any leads on After Effects Scripting forum - archive?
Was looking at web.archive.org, there are little bits there... but not very useful.
Are the pre-2017-18 discussions available anywhere else, since Adobe changed the forum
software?
Ridiculously useful, for when you need a refresher on something.

Hi Alan_AEDScripts,
Sorry! The pre-2017-18 discussions aren't available.
If you have the old URL or title for any of the discussions that you want to be brought back in the community, please share that here. I'll reach out to the team and advocate on your behalf. I can't promise if we can bring them back but I'll try for sure.
Happy to help!

Hi Rameez,
Well if you can just pass on this sentiment.
Scripting forums are not the same as other forums. So if a user is learning a product, there are multiple resources available to solve their issue. ie. things are encountered repetitively and a lot can be solved by the forum, reading the manual, youtube, other sites.
Resolutions to scripting issues, are a distillation of the above... there are much less resources available. Adobe hasn't kept pace with updating guides/object models. Hence the forum was the main place (that I could see) that issues would be thrashed out. It was a repository of information on very specific issues.
Random case point:
Often one might forget about the nuances of Window.update() and how that is different based on a UI panel or a window. So a quick search on the forum would bring up the 3 or 4 threads that are relevant. They would indicate user experience, platforms, versions that people had issues with.
All of it should be restored.
Thanks for your time.
